It sounds like you don’t have an appID set. If you are upgrading from a previous version (and even if you’re not) you may want to take a look at http://wpbook.net/docs/upgrade This page will guide you on how to find your app ID and set permissions.
no Bandon i think this is a legitimate problem. I upgraded as well and WPBOOK was working yesterday.
now today i get Caught exception in stream publish for user: (#200) This API call requires a valid app_id.Error code: 0
Its not a coincidence. I upgraded this morning.
BTW my app ID details are still saved when I look in the control panel
Whats even weirder is i just saved my app id again…i didn’t retype it since it was already there. just clicked save and it now works.
i sooooo don’t understand. but ok.
no wait… it didn’t work. the post published but it didn’t get pulled into facebook, etc…
🙁
and the app is no longer displaying. ARRRRGGGHGH!

Just even visiting: http://hairwegoproducts.com/updates/?signed_request=1
Which should try to load the app, fails.
Do you have access to your server error logs?
What version of WordPress are you on?
Does your host support CURL?
Hi there i’m using wordpress 3.04 and the the plugin worked fine this morning til the updagrade.
yes curl is installed. I have access to the raw apache logs.

@mykkal, We’ve been having reports of problems on any WordPress verison prior to 3.1. Any Reason you can’t upgrade to 3.1 and give it a try?
still waiting for the kinks in 3.1 to be worked out. ours is a company website so its hard to just ‘upgrade’.
I did downgrade to the last version but that didn’t help. I understand if you can’t help me.
So what do you see in the error logs when you try to load this url:
http://hairwegoproducts.com/updates/?signed_request=1
Because I just get an empty response.
We have discovered that with WordPress 3.0.1 there is some kind of conflict which causes an out-of-memory error, which is not present in the same install and configuration with WordPress 3.1
I don’t know if 3.0.4 has that same issue or not
@mykkal Can you try with 2.1.2, just released?
You will need to regrant permissions, and make sure your Facebook App_ID is correct and the settings under Advanced->Migrations inside Facebook are correct (OAuth for authentication).

In FACEBOOK profile or aplication?
@asapreta
The regranting permissions flow starts in WordPress (Settings->WPBook->Stream/Wall-> click on “check permissions”).
That takes you to a page inside FB, in your app, where it displays what permission settings currently are, and has a “regrant permissions” link. Clicking that link should popup a dialogue asking you to grant some permissions to the app, then lands you on your applications canvas page.
The setting for OAuth is in the Facebook Settings for your application, under Advanced->Migrations.
I found how to get the permissions again, but if I want to do it, I need to remove the application first from the FACEBOOK profile.
There is no MIGRATIONS on Advanced.
@asapreta – If you go to your Facebook application, and edit the app, do you see six major sections across the left (About, Web Site, Facebook Integration, Mobile and Devices, Credits, Advanced)?
The Advanced section, the major subsections for me are “Authentication,” “Migrations,” “Security,” “Advertising,” and “Advanced Canvas Features.”
In the “Migrations” section on of the things you can enable or disable is “OAuth 2.0 for Canvas” – that’s the setting I’m referring to
you were right. I’m so pissed with the problem that I didn’t saw it.
Its there and enabled.
