I’ve just noticed that the tab has been added fine to the Application Profile Page, but is still not working with my profile.
Does this mean it’s a facebook issue?

There is no option in the application settings at facebook for [profile tabs] where i can set installable to “users” or “facebook pages”. It seems it’s a facebook issue or not allowed from facebook.

I did notice that too – the “Application Settings->Facebook Integration->Page Tabs->Installable to” options are not there. Could this be the crux of the matter?

it looks as though your blog is linked to your facebook page?
I’m still receiving the error “An error occurred while trying to add the application to your profile. Please try again later.”
How did you resolve this?

No unfortunately nothing has been resolved 🙁 The tab appears (it would seem automatically) on the application page, but will not add to my profile page with the same error you are getting.
If I find a solution I will be sure to post it here, but sadly that it looking very unlikely at the minute.

My link has now started working now, i haven’t changed anything and is now showing on the tab for the page.
Maybe facebook takes a little while to update…
Some gremlin somewhere????
@howvard Wish I was so lucky! Still not working, after 4+ days.
These are my settings, I can’t see that I’ve missed anything but maybe someone else can.

Update – whilst still not being able to add the tab to my profile page, it added to one of my pages without a problem. Now just to get publishing to the wall working…!

I have same problem – when I press “Add Profile Tab” button it says “An error occurred while trying to add the application to your profile. Please try again later.”.
I have added “?app_tab=true&fb_force_mode=fbml” in Tab URL.
Tab doesn’t show up in application profile also.
Please somebody help…:)

This is a Facebook issue – they’ve removed the option for Applications to add tabs to user profiles.
You can still add a tab to a Fan Page, or an Application Page – but not to an individual’s user profile.
See this announcement from August 19th:
Finally, due to low usage rates, we will remove application tabs from user profiles in the next couple months. Application tabs will continue to be supported on Facebook Pages.
