You should use the WPPA+ embedden lightbox implementation.
Set Table IX-A6 to wppa
This should work. If not, supply a link to the site showing the problem.
Hi, thanks for the great plugin! I am having the same problem on link when I click on the pictures they sometimes open in lightbox, sometimes not. My setting is to wppa. Can you help me?

Thanks for the quick reply! I recently changed the settings to lightbox which is stupid when I want you to see the problem. I changed the setting back to wppa. Maybe you could look into it again.

Today i accidently found a problem with lightbox.
It is currently required to set the link from slideshow to lightbox (Table VI-8a) in order to make the other links to lightbox to work.
This will be fixed in the next version.
Maybe this clarifies your problem.
Thanks! There is another problem with that link. I fI set it to light box then the slideshow on the first page will flicker. It doesn’t make the pictures being opened with lightbox.
You have Table VI-8a set to ‘no link at all’. Please set it to ‘lightbox’ then i can see what goes wrong.
ok, I changed it to lightbox. Now the slideshow on the static page begins to flicker.

I tried to reproduce this by makeing a photo like yours, very wide and less tall than the starting dimensions, but i could not reproduce this.
However, i did some improvements in the code so try the next version.
What is the theme you use?, maybe i can reproduce it with that theme.
