The update totally wacked out my site. I have a very simple set up for my site and the update still crewed it up. In my case, pages simple don’t show even though they are there in the admin view. I tried to register to use the support forums but their site never emails the password so it is a no go there. Very frustrating.

I am having the same issues – Update killed my site and having to retrieve the database backup and revert back via replacing the db tables from my back up and site files via FTP – crossing my fingers to see if it works!

Does anyone know of a better solution?

    Hi ksteele36,

Just helped someone who had a problem with disappearing products, was able to help them in about 5 minutes time.

Feel free to email me at office at zaowebdesign dot com with admin access and I’ll be happy to see what the issue is.

@justinsainton Thanks for the offer to assist. There seems to be enough people with this problem it would be helpful to share a solution here. Is there any information I can provide to help you help find a solution? Right now, I am trying to figure out where I can manually update permalinks so I can move forward. Short of that, I might just scrap the whole thing and start over which would suck.

You mentioned to @martin Vecchio that he should email GetShopped directly. Do you know their email? I tried to sign up to post to their forums but I never receive an email with my password.

    Thanks

    Hi jstearn,

I’m one of the lead core developers for the WPEC project, and it’s Saturday in New Zealand where the rest of them are – so I’m probably your best bet for support today πŸ˜‰ Happy to help you work out whatever issue is occurring, just email me at the email address I mentioned with admin access and I’ll take a look to see what’s happening. You should never have to touch the database to update permalinks.

And once we work out the issue, we can post the answer here for all to benefit from πŸ™‚

Thanks for the quick reply Justin – which info are you speaking of? I’m assuming phpmyadmin, but also thinking maybe just the WP admin?

@ksteele36 – Just your WP admin info.

@jstearn – Yours is the travel doc site, right? Super sexy site.

Check it out and let me know if it’s all fixed. If it is, and it appears to be, here’s what I did.

    1) Deactivated all plugins, including WPEC.
    2) Changed permalinks to the default ugly version.
    3) Saved permalinks a few times.
    4) Activated all plugins, one by one.
    5) Activate/De-activate/Re-activate WPEC 2-3 times.
    6) Change permalinks to Day/Name
    7) Save permalinks a few times.

Sounds crazy, but that seemed to work. Again, please reply back and let me know if it’s all working.

Haha, may have spoken too soon – re-investigating.

    ksteele36

    (@ksteele36)

did you happen to clear the site cache somewhere in there Justin?

    Plugin Author Justin Sainton

    (@justinsainton)

Interesting – not sure if it’s a WP_Rewrite class bug or a core WPEC bug – but essentially if you save the new permalinks ONCE, pages work, but products don’t seem to very well – if you save them TWICE, products work but pages return 404.

Going to dive into the permalink code to see what I can work out.

    (@ksteele36)

Mine is a non-standard theme and may be a bit more complicated than all that – I hope you can help.

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know I’ve confirmed the issue, refreshing permalinks is definitely not fixing the issue. I’ll be working with the other devs next week on fixing this. Not sure why it’s happening only on a few different sites, but we’ll investigate and get you squared away early next week, hopefully.
