[Plugin: WordPress.com Stats] installed jetpack and still not working

like many others I had problems with wpstats. and like many others i installed jetpack in hopes of fixing the problem. well, i didnt like it and uninstalled it in hopes that wp stats would come back, but now when i install wp stats, it tells me i need to enter my API key again (earlier it said that my account was not linked to my API, which it is) and wont let me enter it anywhere.

So, everyone says, “use jetpack instead”. which is great and all, except that according to jetpack, ive had 3 visits over the last 48 hours, which is not the case.
