Support » Plugin: WordPress HTTPS (SSL) » [Plugin: WordPress HTTPS (SSL)] Add HTTPS to a Category?

  • My WordPress+eCommerce site’s shop is built from category-based posts, so each item could be secured individually, but do you know if the overall shop can be secured? I specifically want the check-out process to be secured (currently, I can make it through the section where I input billing info, etc, but when I click the final checkout, the site times out).

The demo shop is located here.

Can you help or is this something I’ll have to consult the original theme developer on?

    Thanks so much in advance!

    Hey Paige,

Currently, the plugin can only secure posts and pages. I hope to add some features in the future to allow for any URL to be secured. I may get that into the next version (2.0), but no promises. I’ve already done a ton of work on it and would really like to release it soon.

I’ll play with the feature and see how hard it would be. If it doesn’t take too long, I’ll get it into the next version. Then, you could tell the plugin to secure any URL that matches “/?orderNow=” and it would secure your checkout pages.

I know that WordPress E-commerce actually uses pages for everything, so it’s a little easier to secure checkout pages and such.

I would ask the theme developer about adding a secure checkout option.
