Does not work with newest version of wordpress. Widgets no longer show unless this plugin is deactivated.

Yep – the fault has been acknowledged by the developer but he is away until the end of Jan 2012. A new version has been promised on his return.

Anyone heard anything here? The target by URL also appears not to work anymore.

Looking for an alternative, i stumbled over the Widget Logic plugin. It works very well if you need to show widgets only on certain pages: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-logic/
