• Frederick,

I’ve got a dedicated server with memcached installed and running. My main site is multi-site, with multiple databases, using memcached and batcache. That works great.

I have an add-on domain, single-site, that is growing and in need of caching. I’d love to use w3. This site has it’s own database, but still shares the server running memcached for the first site.

Can I use w3 with this scenario? Or will memcached mess it up. And, because it will be installed on the add-on domain (meaning a separate wp-config, wp-content, etc.) is there any chance of it messing up the multi-db set-up on the main site?

    Thanks!

You can use a single memcached instance for both sites if you like sure. Best to just create another memcached instance entirely for the new site or if they’re all on a single server. Use W3TC with APC for database + object caching on both sites.
