[Plugin: W3 Total Cache] Directory has no Index File

After installing the w3 total cache the home and all other pages of my website are gone and in place says

“Directory has no index file”

What is happening to my index file after installing W3 Total Cache?

I install it with all the default settings and make no changes. I have also tried installing and deleting the plugin a couple times.

When I deactivate the plugin, my site goes back to functioning just fine.

Also, I should mention I’m using the Thematic Theme Framework
