• Hi,

For a client I tried to update the plugin. Update process seemed to hang, and after nearly ten minutes system took me back to the admin area. But the Mailpoet plugin has disappeared from my plugins list, and the link on the website has stopped responding.

When I try to reinstall, I get this:

    Installing the plugin…
    Destination folder already exists. ../wp-content/plugins/wysija-newsletters/
    Plugin install failed.

So now it seems it cannot be used anymore. What should I do?
Remove or rename that old folder and try again? What will happen to stored addresses and mails?

    Looking forward to your replies.

    Thanks!
    Marco

  • Hi Marco,

You can delete the /wp-content/plugins/wysija-newsletters/ folder and install it again.

Your subscribers and newsletters are saved under your database, so you will not lose anything.
