I know that ‘pages’ are just posts with certain attributes involving time and hierarchy, so I was wondering how to create a custom post type that creates a ‘page’ rather than a post?

I can’t seem to remove the timestamp/author/catagory data from the bottom of the custom posts.

I am surprised I am the first to post this, I have seen ‘custom page type’ queries around other forums. Help is appreciated, and hopefully it can help out some of the others too!

Look under ‘display options’ when you edit the custom type.

To turn on the ‘page’ features, select ‘page-attributes’. There are options for author and other things.

Make sure that this type is not associated with ‘categories’. Once not, you should not see category association.
