terms cannot be created on the fly, they can only be associated to existing terms, therefore the best thing to do in this case is create subcategories for all 50 state of Usa category and apply the subcategory to the post provided in the csv you wish to parse. The post will automatically assume categories based on its term parents.
Thanks for the reply 🙂
Would this be a feature you would think of adding? It’s not just US States I have unfortunately, it’s continents, countries and regions from all over the world so adding them manually wouldn’t be ideal.
Really love the plugin by the way, it really is the best CSV plugin I have come across but would really need this feature to keep using.
provide me with a csv file and i will overhaul xmlrpc to create categories and subcategories on the fly.
Could you provide me with an email address to send it over to you?

use the following as a reference to ingest sub categories:
title,content,term_name,term_slug,term_parent,term_description
usa,the usa,usa,,,
florida,flordia state,florida,,usa,
orlando,orlando city,orlando,,florida,
the functionality you requested is available in version 2.4.4 be sure to update the plugin
Thanks so much, it looks great but haven’t been able to import as not the ‘Post Info’ now won’t show on the ingestion page 🙁
this problem is fixed in 2.4.5
try out version 2.4.6 and if errors ensue toggle new Ingestion debugger and provide the output to better debug the issue.
disregard im finding another error wait til 2.4.7
thoroughly tested and functional: 2.4.7
wordpress thread resolved functionality is broken
Apologies for my late reply on this. I have been at a wedding.
I have tried to import the csv using the latest version but now the loading graphic just appears when trying to ingest a file and there are alot of errors when previewing the file.
Is it working ok your end? Is it because I am using 3.4.1 of WordPress do you think? Should I downgrade?
