• WP 2.7.1
    MYSQL 4.1.21
    Subscribe2 4.13
    Apache 1.3.41
    Sendmail 8.13.6.20060614
    FreeBSD 4.7 Release p28

I have recently installed the Subscribe2 plugin on site A and copied the plugin directory to site B. Both sites are on the same server.

    Site B works as expected.

Site A works with one exception, I am not getting confirmation emails as an admin when someone has successfully subscribed or unsubscribed to the blog.

There is nothing in the apache log/maillog/messages log that indicates any issues.

The configurations for site A and site B are identical.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks for your help!

  • @brenden,

There is an option to turn these notification on and off in Settings->Subscribe2. Are you certain that the setting is toggled to ‘Both’ under ‘Send Admins notifications for new:’.

Im having the same problem. This is my background. using 2.7.1 and I am using a hosted gmail account with my domain. I cant get any conformation emails sent to me or any emails sent to my admin. But WP will send out email to everyone else who does not have an @mydomain.com email. I am not using any other plugins but Subscribe2. It took me two days of reading and trying different methods to get my hosted gmail account working. I even tried my free AOL and free Gmail with 4 different SMTP plugins along with my hosted gmail settings to no avail.
ive got send Admins notification set to both.
The only workaround that I have found is to change my admin email to one of my ‘free’ emails and forward that my main gmail hosted account. *shrugs* took me a ton of time to figure out how to get all emails sent and received. The biggest mistake was using my own emails for testing!
there are a TON of people who have hosted gmail problems. I hope some find my fix. but I am still looking for a ‘cleaner’ solution.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Wish wp.org used some kind of comment notification :-P.

I have the setting you are referring to set to BOTH.

    Obbyboy1969,

I think there is an issue in the current WordPress core relating to servers connecting to themselves – this may be the root cause of your problem.

    @brendan,

Does the self email issue apply to you?

I don’t think so as my other WP sites on the same server work fine.
