  • I found that using the WP settings to reverse the comments did not work well with paginated comments. If you have 11 comments and are paging 10 comments per page and using the built-in comment reversing, the first page shows only 1 comment and the second page shows 10!

    So I installed the “Simple Reverse Comments” plugin. This results in much nicer paging. The only problem was after posting a comment you are taken to the last page instead of the first. I resolved this by adding the hidden input “redirect_to” to the comments form in my comments.php template file, and have it redirect back to the current page (“the_permalink()”).

    The result is perfect, reverse order comments. Even nested comments are displayed in the correct order.

    BStofko: I too have this redirect problem and it’s making me go crazy trying to fix it. I finally ended up here, but can you please be a little more specific because I really want this to work. 🙂

    First you need to have a comments.php in your theme. Then you must edit it and insert the following line in your form that posts comments:

    <input type="hidden" id="redirect_to" name="redirect_to" value="<?php the_permalink(); ?>/">

    Oh it was that simple, thanks alot!
