    Restrict Categories works perfectly for individual users and user roles, but I have one problem with editors not being able to see another user’s categories (as in, the categories box is empty when they edit another user’s post), even though they are able to view/select those categories on the Posts and Add/Edit Post pages. I made sure the editor(s) the category is selected in Restrict Categories for both the editors and the user.

    Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

    I’m not able to replicate this behavior.

    Do you have a users management plugin installed (i.e. Members, Role Manager)? If so, make sure the proper capabilities are given to the editor role.


    No, I don’t have any user management plugins installed and I’m using the original user roles.

    Strange… I managed to fix this by selecting ALL categories for the editor user role on the Restrict Categories page, saving, and by deselecting them one by one and only selecting the ones I want to be selected.

    I have the same issue and it works by selecting all categories one by one. But if I add a sub-category and go back to the category list, the one I made is gone!

    Admin can see it but not my Editor who has all other categories selected – except the new one they just created.

    Thank you all! I have the same issue with deleted category. Had to select all and deselect again.

    It would be nice to have this issue fixed some day!
