Plugin request – standalone status update widget

Hi all,

I was wondering if you could help!
I am looking for a plugin/widget that allows me to post “What’s on your mind” type messages on the sidebar or top of the “home” page?

I see a lot that integrate facebook and twitter into the blog, but I really don’t want that 🙁 I would just like one that’s unique to my site and not linked with anything else.

I saw something similar to what I want in the “Mingle” plugin, but frankly I have no use for anything else in the Mingle suite. I just want the “what’s on your mind” part on it’s own.

Like I said, preferably a sidebar widget I could post onto from any page (as I’m logged in, it will allow me to) or something I could incorporate into the home page.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
