    I noticed that the login name is shown when I as an admin participate in the chat. This is like giving away step one of your personal secure-login. Better is it to use a screen name when available.

    The ability to change your user name is too late because by default it will show the login name first and it will tale a while for it to change to the new chosen username.

    Login name is used because that’s the only way to be sure that logged in users will have unique chat names when they join chat room (login names are unique, nick names are not). Generally you should have secure password not login name. Never the less I wouldn’t use login name if I had other options. If you have better idea please share and I’ll change current behavior, after all it is open source 😉
