  • I second the, “I love this plugin” comment. Not only is this a breeze to use, it’s well documented and even has a video.

I’m going to play with the free version for awhile and then probably buy the pro because of the extra features.

Thanks for the feedback and support! Let me know if you have any feature requests… we’ve got a nice list going and will be adding new stuff to the Pro & the free versions in the near future.

Good to hear from you Dalton.

I’ve used your plug-in on numerous pages here: http://www.stevegeliot.com

I hope you like it – I think on the home page I’d like to make the three slideshows go ‘out of phase’ with each other but that’s for another day.

When client settles I’ll be happy to donate – it’s great having access to good scripts like this.

    Thanks

    Hey Steve,
The site looks awesome, glad I could help in some way. I agree, having them out of phase might be cool… you could just make the timeout slightly different for each one.

I am honestly so surprised by the number of times this plugin has been downloaded and the positive feedback I’ve gotten. It started off as a small personal project for my own website. Amazing how things can grow in the WP community!

    Thanks Dalton
(I’m Jim actually – Steve is my client/friend)

Sorry – did you mean add this shortcode: timeout=4000

    (@daltonrooney)

Gah, I knew you were Jim! But I was looking at Steve’s site, so that’s what I typed. : )

Yeah, if you modify the timeout in the shortcode, it changes the speed at which the slideshow switches slides. So it would actually be quite easy to create an asynchronous effect between the different slideshows.

The other thing I was thinking about which I thought might look kind of cool was if the first transition of each slideshow was staggered by 1/2 of a second or so, so the transitions were in sync, but not happening at the same time (if that makes sense). There’s an option in jQuery cycle called “delay” that delays the first transition so it’s definitely possible… but I have no idea how! I’m still working on learning the best way to pass options on to the Cycle plugin in a more dynamic way.

Anyway, great site! I may feature you on our blog, if you don’t mind. I’m doing a roundup of Portfolio Slideshows out in the wild as an example of what can be done with it.

    Cheers,
    Dalton

    Good morning
Congratulations to the Portfolio Slideshow plugin, let me know if you can add background music to each Portfolio Slideshowche insert.

    Thanks

    Hi Seiferdodo,
There’s no feature in the plugin for that, but you could use our Haiku audio player plugin to include some audio in the post. Since both plugins are activated by jQuery, you could write some simple code to sync them up:
