[Plugin: OpenID] Problem with Pingback comments

I would like to let you know that there is a problem withe the OpenID preprocess_comment hook defined as the openid_process_comment function.

When a site ping a post within a blog that has OpenID enabled the ping will not be added and the site sending the ping will receive a response saying:

Error: please fill the required fields (name, email).

I tracked down this to the openid_require_name_email() function, called in the openid_process_comment function.

What do you think? Shouldn’t be possibile to bypass the openid controls if the comment type is “pingback” or “trackback”?
Or do you know a solution to this?
