    Hello,

For a few weeks now, I’ve got issues with some of the plugins installed on my WordPress reported as “Plugin not found on wordpress.org” eventhough there are still present.

After inverstigating a little bit, I found the issue and I have to fix proposal. What happens is that those plugins are very poorly referenced in the plugin directory. For instance, the plugin category-sticky-post doesn’t appear in the first 10 results and hence is reported as not found. But if you query with quotes ‘category-sticky-post’, it’s in the list (even first answer).

So I tried in the file assets/js/opn-scripts.js line 23 to replace:

    "request[search]": opnSlugs[j],

    with:

    "request[search]": "'" + opnSlugs[j] + "'",

It fixes the issue. With this code, almost all my plugins are found. I still have issue for column-shortcodes. For this one, changing request[per_page] from 10 to 20 fixes this issue.

It seems that using the slug is not a garantied ranking factor in the WordPress plugin directory as it used to be when it comes to plugins with very few users and few updates.

    Hello,

    Sorry for the late reply.

Thanks very much for pointing out this issue, and your suggested fix. Your fix would have indeed mitigated the issue somewhat. But I believe the real fix–the one to eliminate the issue you raised–was to revert the most recent edit I made. In that edit, I switched from using the more accurate plugin_information action to the less accurate query_plugins action. I’ve now pushed a new version of the plugin (1.0.8) in which I revert that edit. Please update your version to this and let me know if there are further issues.

    Thanks,

    Carl Gross

    Thanks a lot

OK very glad to hear that. I’ll mark this as resolved.

Thanks again for pointing that out.
