    Hi there,

We use afterpay as a payment method on our website. We have installed a plugin ‘Flexible Checkout Fields’ to show a custom field for customers to enter delivery instructions.

It seems that whenever a customer enters information in this field and pays with afterpay, the information does not show in woocommerce when order is complete. I have contacted the ‘Flexible Checkout Fields’ plugin author and their response is as follows:

“Our Flexible Checkout Fields hooks into the default WooCommerce scripts and our customly fields use the same method as WooCommerce to be created. Apparently the Afterpay gateway is interfering somehow and overwriting the values entered and saved in the checkout fields. I’m afraid it’s an issue to be solved rather by the Afterpay plugin authors than us.”

Are you able to help us with a solution? Thanks

    Hi @jvluca,

    Thank you for your message.

While it is not possible to perform compatibility tests for a practically infinite number of plugin configurations, the Afterpay plugin does include a Compatibility Mode to reduce potential for conflicts with other plugins as much as possible. The main trade-off is that it allows WooCommerce to create the Order as soon as the customer proceeds to Afterpay from the final page of the WooCommerce checkout. This can potentially result in a high volume of cancelled orders, as unpaid orders will be cancelled automatically if payment is not confirmed within an hour.

The team’s recommendations are as follows:

    1. Update the Afterpay Gateway for WooCommerce plugin to the latest version (if applicable)
    2. Enable Compatibility Mode from the WordPress Admin by checking the “Compatibility Mode” box at “WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Afterpay” and clicking to save changes.

    Thank you.

Thank you, ‘Compatibility Mode’ fixed the problem.
