[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Sidebar image rotation
-
Hi Guys,
I’ve got the plugin installed and the image rotator.swf installed OK.
Gallery upload is fine.
What I want to do is have an image in the sidebar that rotates to a random image out of a gallery every 10 seconds.
The images are the same width 150 pixels but are varying heights up to about 200 pixels. The issues I have are these :
1) The images do not rotate. They stay the same unless I click on it and then it reloads the page. I’ve set the time interval to 10 seconds with no joy. Image-rotator.swf is in the plugins/nextgen-gallery folder and the plugin has found it correctly.
2) The quality of the images is terrible when they are displayed by the plugin. Badly blurred and weirdly cropped. I set the image size to 150×209 and expected it to show the images at their native size (say 150×120) and when a taller image came along it would show it correctly. Instead it crops the top and bottom off the taller images and blurs them all regardless of size. The image quality settings are all at 100%.
I’m not a programmer and know nothing about HTML coding at all.
It took me long enough to work out how to use the widgets.I downloaded another plugin called “drop in image slideshow gallery”. This is installed on the left sidebar under the heading “TAM London Pics” and works perfectly in terms of rotation and image quality. But it won’t do random image sequence so I downloaded NextGEN Gallery.
The NextGEN gallery plugin is at the bottom on the right hand sidebar under the heading “HSS Pics”.
You can see the differences I’m talking about.

Can anyone help me get the images to a sensible quality and make them rotate please ?
I’m not getting any joy out of the settings. Thanks guys.
