  • Hello, I have a fresh WordPress install on my server and want to display two separate instances of the NextGen thumbnail gallery in my sidebar (Twenty Eleven) for two separate galleries. I assume this is possible since the lower section of the widget shows, “Gallery ID :” however there may be some user confusion here and my 20 minute research has still not thrown up the answer. I have used this before – but only for random images.

So.. my problem is that I get a selection of images in each widget from all galleries – not the ones I’m after. Maybe this is by design? I notice another plugin (NextGEN Gallery Sidebar Widget) which claims to do this (I think) so I’ll head off there now and install it whilst I discover what these fields are for in this NG widget.

    Thanks in advance.

  • OK, I’ve cracked it and in case this comes up again, here’s the answer:

You have to use the drop down menu in the widget, “Only those that are selected” (for instance) and then add the gallery numbers in the ID: field. For me this was “1” in the first widget then in the next widget, I added “3”.

Of course, you can reverse this by selecting “Only which are not listed”.

I thought the listing section was something to do with options in the main plugin, not the widget. No harm done. All sorted now.

Good luck with your WordPress installs peeps.

    Regards from England. Callum.
