[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] NextGEN Imbalance 1.18

I’m setting up a new blog using Imbalance 1.18 theme and NextGEN Gallery (which is the best image-related WordPress plugin I’ve seen so far), but the two unfortunately won’t play nicely with each other.

There are two issues:

1) When I select a featured image for a post through NextGEN instead of the default WordPress Media Library, the theme shows thumbnail-sized images on the home page in place of the regular images.

2) Whenever I add a picture list to a post using [nggallery id=x] command (with x being the ID number of the gallery) and the list has more than four rows with five pictures in each row, I encounter the following bug. The first four rows are okay, then the fifth row always stays empty except for an image which sticks to the right side of the row, and then the next row goes on as it should, putting images from left to right. (Note: I’ve modded the theme so the column width in the single post view is 610px.)
