[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Imagebrowser quality with thumbnails

After struggling with this for a while and not figuring out the solution, I am asking for help.
For a quick backstory of my issue, I use Nextgen gallery for pdf exporting images. I love the tag feature as it makes my life a lot easier.
I noticed while comparing images pre- and post-export, the thumbnail quality is significantly reduced in comparison to the imagebrowser. I’m assuming it’s because imagebrowser doesn’t use the stored thumbnails. If I have text on the gallery images, it becomes impossible to read upon export while clear as day with imagebrowser.

I want to see if there is any way I can edit a theme or file to achieve the imagebrowser quality in thumbnails? I would assume simply adding more images per page, for imagebrowser, wouldn’t solve the problem as I need the use of tags?
