• Hi,

I have a problem with the Flash uploader. I get this error when I try to upload some pictures: “ERROR HTTP ERROR : xxx.jpg : 500”. I’ve tried with different pictures sizes (60kb – 800kb), but nothing worked.

The non flash uploader works well. The WordPress Core Media Uploader works to.

My wordpress is running on a “Microsoft-IIS/7.0” server so i can’t do anything with the.htaccess file.

    Thanks,

    Tim

  • I have the same problem ! I am trying to test picture upload via contributor access. I will revert to admin to see if the option comes back.

Indeed flash upload works when I am logged in as admin but when I am logged in as contributor, I get an upload error http error 500 message in flash mode, regular mode does work but I have about 160 pictures per gall to load up over 20 galleries…

This may not answer the first request, however in my case, it was simply a question of changing ‘contributor’ to ‘author’ since a contributor cannot upload any files regardless of plug in. You may try at your own risk Capability Manager plug in as suggested by nextgen.
