[Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] flash uploader Call to undefined function get_space_allowed()

    hi there,

    i’m using the newest wordpress 3.4.1 and also the newest nextgen gallery plugin 1.9.5

    when i try to upload pictures via the flash uploader i always get the following error ->

    [13-Aug-2012 08:36:16] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_space_allowed() in /path/to/httpdocs/wp-includes/ms-functions.php on line 1473

    the wordpress is a multisite install …

    any help on how to fix this error would be more than awesome 😉

    Hi becki,

    The quick fix would be to disable the preliminary upload check by NextGen.

    1. Go to Network Admin->Gallery->Network Settings
    2. Uncheck “Enable upload quota check:
    3. Click Update.
    4. Done. 🙂

    Had same issue, also on multisite.

    As a workaround I am using the “regular” file uploader (not the “Flash” uploader). Hoping this is a bug that will be fixed by WP or NG in hte next week or so…

    Great becki! I also like Strategerizer’s idea too for extra credit. 🙂 With a little bit of coding … disabling the flash uploader would ultimately be more compatible for iOS devices too. But your current setup should still provide both flash and non-flash uploading. I wouldn’t change a thing unless you like to code. 🙂

    I got the same problem. Seems to be related only to multi-site installations. I followed @ccowell suggestion which helped.

    Still I would like to use the quota check. So if there is an update fixing this problem that would be great!
