• I tried following the video instructions and was able to find the code in the Header.php but came across a lot of extra code in that PHP section. Just to be clear, I went to the PHP section in the Header.PHP and removed it down to last branding statement. Then, I inserted the slideshow code in it’s place, but nothing appeared on my home page. I’m using WordPress version 3.4. Could that be the difference?

    Thanks

The video you were watching might have been for the TwentyEleven theme rather than TwentyTen. The easiest way to do this would be to just add the slideshow template tag to the header file, but don’t try to remove or edit the rest of the code. To remove the header image, do that in the theme options under Appearances -> Header.
