Plugin Memory Requirements

Hi,
What I find annoying is that the many plugins, as wonderful as they are, do not give an indication as to the memory resources they may require and demand to run on average.

My hosting company charges me on server memory usage, and so I set it low as much as possible. However, I run frequently into resource problems (not enough memory) and do not know which plugin might be overloading my limits.

What do people do about that? Can WordPress require plugin developers to publicize a minimum estimate of their plugin’s memory usage?
