plugin installation for WP MU

    hi! I tried for the first time to install plugins to wordpress MU, I transfered them by ftp in the pluging direcory and one in the MU plugin directory but I can’t manage them to activate them, becouse it says:

    Manage Plugins

    Plugins extend and expand the functionality of WordPress. Once a plugin is installed, you may activate it or deactivate it here.

    You do not appear to have any plugins available at this time.

    why?? what can I do?? thanck you

    Hi surferbloggy. This is the forum for single WP, the WPMU forum is at http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/
    Having said that, read the plugin instructions re WHERE to install the plugins – either in /mu-plugins/ or /plugins/ folder. Some require FTP upload to the first folder, others in the plugins folder and some in both. Note that plugins installed in mu-plugins folder won’t appear in Plugins-Installed page. Cheers.
