Sidebar problem with Avada
-
Hey guys, so apparently my theme (Avada) doesn’t support a sidebar in the posts or pages part of the site. Is that real or are they just trying to upsell me on a more costly theme? I’m not a programmer but I think that I just do the whole
get_sidebar
in the single.php file or something. Can someone clarify this. Is that possible for me to get a sidebar in my current theme or do I need a whole new theme?
Thanks!
Brian

Sorry, you’re using a premium/paid theme not supported in these forums. It’s best to go to the support site where you bought the theme for help with customizations and issues. You paid for support when you bought the theme, so you should contact the people who sold you the theme.
These forums are for free themes available in the WordPress theme directory at http://wordpress.org/themes/. See http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Commercial_Products
So I asked them and they said that there wasn’t a way to do it via the backend. I remember reading that there are some other ways of doing it but I don’t know how to program well enough to take the matters into my own hands. It’s annoying that I paid for something but a key feature isn’t there so I just want to see if there is a workaround.

That’s something you have to take up with them. That theme is not developed or supported by WordPress.
Understood, just wanted to see if there was another route.
Thanks,
Brian
