Hmm, that’s odd.
Perhaps try using an IP address for Google in the feed URL, rather than www.google.com. So, instead of this:
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/something@google.com/public/basic
try this:
http://173.194.41.134/calendar/feeds/something@google.com/public/basic
or this:
http://173.194.67.94/calendar/feeds/something@google.com/public/basic

Nope. Same error message. The other thing is that the page itself takes noticeably longer to load when the plugin is active on it. However, I’m suspecting the issue is actually server related and not being caused by the plugin. On a different server with an exact copy of the site, the plugin works just fine.

Interesting.
The page load times are probably due to the plugin trying to retrieve the feed data on every page load, but the request is timing out (blocking page load is something I need to address in the future, but that’s another story).
The only thing that stands out is that the error message you posted contains a IPv6 address, so perhaps the issue is something IPv6 related. I’ll look into this and see if I can figure anything out.
Do other things that make remote requests for data work correctly (the “WordPress Development Blog” and “Other WordPress News” dashboard widgets, for example)?

Yeah, turned out to be a server issue. Thanks for the help and for the plugin.

It’s most likely not an issue with the plugin. In my case it turned out to be a blacklisted IP address – client with a weak password was compromised and began sending out massive amounts of spam. The IP was blocked and couldn’t perform any outgoing transmissions.
So, as Ross said to me above, check to see if your server is capable of sending anything out by checking the blog on the dashboard, or try searching for plugins through the new plugin page.

You’ll probably need to contact your web hosting company. Hopefully they’ll be able to fix the issue, or at least point you in the right direction.
I’m using the calendar plugin for three feeds. Last week we stopped being able to move forward in time. Clicking the arrow on the upper right of the calendar doesn’t produce the next month calendar. Tried everything. Any ideas? Thanks. Richard

The “My Twitter Ticker” plugin you have installed is causing a JavaScript error that is preventing the month navigation from working.
Are you using the My Twitter Ticker plugin? If not, the simplest solution would be to deactivate it.

My plugin conforms to most of WordPress’ standards and conventions in its construction, so should play nicely with any other plugin that also does so, but it’s difficult to account for plugins that cause errors and suchlike.
