So far, Flickr has not added support for collections to its public API. When they do, I would love to add support for them to the plugin.

That’s great to hear. I just did some research on it and it seems that Flickr has been saying they are going to release Collections for the API for about 2 years now! Collections are in the API, but it is buggy at best so there is no documentation:

Collections are in the API that Flickr uses on its own website. They are not part of the official public API. The last time I checked, if you used your own API key to try to use one of those methods, it would fail and say that the method didn’t exist.
Even if you can make the calls, I’m not going to add it to the plugin until it’s officially supported because they could yank them out of the API or change the implementation at any time and it would break the site of anyone using my plugin.
