[Plugin: File Gallery] Custom Template Selectable But Not Displaying

I’ve got this all setup, have had it working in the past, but now I can’t get my custom template to work for some reason. I’ve created a template called slideshow and I’m using the jquery cycle library along with this jquery thumbnail scroller (http://manos.malihu.gr/jquery-thumbnail-scroller) to achieve my desired needs. Currently my template is residing in the /wp-content/ directory. I can select this template through all the backend options but when it comes to being displayed on the front-end File-Gallery seems to default to either the ‘default’ or ‘simple’ templates. Anyone else experience this? I’ve read through the post about new templates not being recognized (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-file-gallery-new-templates-not-recognized-and-settings-ignored?replies=26) but that really doesn’t help any of my issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
