I’m pretty new to WordPress, but I’m trying to set up a blog that aggregates several different “a photo a day” sites from physics classes across the country, as a resource for other physics teachers (I’m also a physics teacher…). It’s just in the preliminary phases, but you can check out my attempt here: http://pterodactyl.info/aggregator/
I got the syndication working fine, but I’m also trying to use a different plugin to allow visitors to the site to “rate” the posts, to generate a “top ten” page of the most popular posts. The rating plugin works, but only for the posts that originate on the home blog itself, not for posts that come in through the RSS feed.
I guess there is a fundamental difference between syndicated posts from the RSS feed and original posts that’s tripping up the ratings plugin, but I don’t know what this difference is, so I can’t make any headway trying to correct it. I realize that this could just be an issue of compatibility between the two plugins, but I’ve tried multiple ratings plugins and they all perform the same way.
