I was just wondering if it was possible to pull how many items are in the cart in the template itself? With PHP perhaps? Or basically be able to us the code for the widgets without using the widgets itself.

you want the functionality of the existing widget, without using it as a widget?

Sounds weird I know. Basically I have a nav menu across the top and there’s a button for the cart. I want to be able to display # of items in the cart along w/ the button text – http://cuteswag.com .

couldn’t you just enable a widget area?

I’ll could look at creating a smaller widget(or maybe a shortcode), just let me know exactly what you want in there when there are items in the cart, and more importantly, when there are no items.

Just a simple 0 for none and the number of items in cart. A short code would be great since I just figured out the other day how to use short codes in the template. I hope I’m not inconveniencing you :\ If you have a donate button somewhere I would be more than happy to give you some bucks.

There is a donate button on the about page of the plugin 🙂

Ok just to confirm, you want to show the number of items in the cart whether it be 0 or 100 – you don’t want anything else, including links etc.

If you confirm that I’ll write a quick little shortcode for it, and include it in the next release.
