Was this working for an older version of Simply Exclude? Or have you just recently installed the plugin?
A lot is defendant on how your theme pulls posts from the WordPress engine. The Simply Exclude cannot filter all queries. It was designed to filter only four common queries within WordPress: is_home, is_archive, is_feed, is_search.
I see on your site in the left sidebar area the post ‘SPECIAL THANK YOU’s!’ What exactly is displayed there? Is that a widget? Which one?
In your wp-admin try going to the Simply Exclude settings screen. On the Taxonomies > Category section you should see an option for ‘Query Filtering’. IF this is set to ‘Main Loop Only’ try setting it to ‘All Loops’.
The actions control including or excluding the selected category from the action. MY guess is for the action ‘Widget:Categories’ you have set to ‘include only’. This mean what is says. To include only the selected category and hide all others. Try setting it to ‘exclude’.
Thank you! Actually, it was Front/Home that was set to Include Only. When I changed the post in question was hidden from the front page widget, however all of my posts are no longer in the Latest News section (blog).
