Hi @abigailsaltz
Can you verify which version of the plugin you’re on at the moment? If known, which day that the update was applied to the website?
Give the “manual_reconnect” repetition, the plugin is definitely in a state of needing to manually disconnect, via the “Disconnect” menu page, and then re-connect again with a fresh authentication process.
@tw2113 I’m on version Version 2.21.0. We just installed the plugin on July 7th. I’m not seeing a “disconnect” button, because it’s already showing as “disconnected.”
If you visit /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=ctct_forms&page=ctct_options_connect in your site, there should be a button next to the “Status:” line
There isn’t. See here for what I see. And I’ve tried clicking the “connect” button shown in the linked image, but it just gives me a new key to paste, which I’ve done and has not worked.
Is it giving you a proverbial loop where you paste the code and then save and then it’s still showing “Connect” etc?
Curious if there’s some options that are “stuck”. I know we clear out connection details upon deactivation, so that’s worth trying. Deactivate and then re-activate. Then try connecting once more.
Yes. It gives me a new code, I paste it, and it doesn’t connect. If I deactivate will all the forms and everything disappear?
No, those should remain in the database, ready to be re-found upon re-activation. The forms and lists are stored as post types/meta
Thanks! Will they be removed from where they are on the website and have to re-added? I’m not the one that actually designs the website, so I want to be prepared for him to have to re-add them if needed.
Nope, placement remains as well.
As is, the “Disconnect” button should still allow you to manually disconnect things and reset the associated settings, which should fix up potential “loops” with the authorization code.
We’re always working on doing what we can to work on the UX. I know we have changes in review that allow for testing the current access tokens as well as touch up wording. For example “Force disconnect” instead of “Disconnected” to better imply action intent.
If you let us know what your biggest pain points are, we can continue to evaluate and improve on the UX.
Thanks for the response. The disconnect button on the upper right of the current version in WordPress wasn’t working but it also said it was disconnected in the main WordPress column.
I am on OSX Safari. Maybe that’s the issue.
Where the inline forms updated with the latest version. 2.21.0 We’ve had the current one for years. Again, it looks like it submits, but the data doesn’t go though.
I’lll probably just link to a backup form on the CC side instead on making it inline in WordPress. It’s messy but I know that works. I need to fix ASAP.
I ended up having to deactivate and reactivate the plugin from the plugins section. That worked and allowed me to reconnect to my account.
