    We had a plugin causing HUGE issues – it had an internal error log file that filled up with 66 GIG of errors in 2 days. Locked the site, etc.

    So we removed the plugin (sonic reply) and DELETED all files. Yet, we are still getting these errors in our php error log:

    PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘../../../wp-load.php’ (include_path=’.’) in /var/blah/blah/blah/blah/wp-content/plugins/sonicreply/getemailreplies.php(1) : eval()’d code on line 3

    every five minutes. We could find no reason for this. We did check wp cron.

  • Hi Sid. Since your plugin is a commercial product I’d recommend that you post your question with the vendor’s support for help with your issue:
    https://support.pluginresults.com/
    These forums are for support of themes and plugins available in the wordpress.org repository and the volunteers on this forum don’t have access to commercial products. Contacting the vendor also allows the developers to be aware of potential issues with their products.

    yes I tried that – they were not helpful. In a previous help call to them, we gave them access to our production site – and they just started turning plugins on and off without warning (or permission) – including our security plugins! Created no end of havoc on our production site.

    As it turns out, we discovered the cause – remnants that were left behind when we deleted the plugin, including entries in the SYSTEM cron, which on our server should NOT have been possible. Yet, there they were! DOZENS of them.
    (which were causing THAT log and the php error log to fill up fast)

    At any rate, thank you for your response. Fortunately, we ferreted out all the culprits and returned our server to a normal state.

    Again, thanks. 🙂
