After updating to the new version there was a message “The plugin feed-them-social/feed-them.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.”

I reactivated it – which worked ok – but going to “feeds” no feeds were listed. Rather than start from scratch having to reconnecting to Instagram and going through all the settings to recreate what I already had I just reinstalled v3.0.2 – the feed is working as it should again.

Could the update be a bit more seamless without all this extra work?

Thanks for taking the time to leave a note here. Every bit of feedback helps as this was theeee biggest update in like 10yrs. Future updates should be more seamless for sure, this was a mega overhaul.

In the latest update we are also forcing users to have at least php 7.0 running. If you are running anything lower than that the plugin will not activate. I’m hoping this was the case for you and if so I would highly suggest upgrading your server to at least php7.0 since earlier versions are a security risk to your server and website.

Thanks Spencer! All three sites this happened on were running on php 8.1 if that helps.

Thanks for that, yes helpful. So I know our plugin has a few php notices with php 8.1, is it working ok for you running on 8.1 or did you have to change versions?

I reverted to v3.0.2 – mainly because the feeds were not carried forward to the new version and would have to go back to the clients to get the social feeds connected again, so I did not get a change to try it properly on php8.1.

I will try out one site later in the week with the new version and if there is any issues I’ll let you know.

    Thanks!

Hey @justanothernerd You should be able to easily convert the shortcode using this documentation. https://www.slickremix.com/documentation/convert-old-shortcode/

Let me know how that goes for you. Should only take a minute or two.

Also, Thank you for being so patient with us! We really do appreciate it.
