• Hi,

    this message appeared here today:

This plugin has been closed as of January 26, 2021 and is not available for download. This closure is temporary, pending a full review.

What happened, what does it mean?

    Thanks for the clarification.

  • Thomas the author was in touch with me and this issue applies to the free version, not the Pro version which I have. I hope this issue can be resolved by the review team as the free version exposure is what promotes the paid version. Not for anything, nobody cried foul concerning the folder limit.

Woah. In this case, half of the plugins in the repository should be closed! I researched other similar competing products and they all have the same limitation. Very strange.

Such an odd/ridiculous situation. I was hoping it might be resolved by now. Seems like a crazy reason for removing the plugin if the 10 folder limit is what they’ve done it for. As everyone else has already said, it’s the same with virtually all of the alternatives out there.

I was just about to pull the trigger on a lifetime license before this all kicked off but am now waiting until it’s resolved, just to be on the safe side. Supporting a plugin that’s been almost arbitrarily removed from the plugin directory might not be all that sustainable for the dev going forward. Especially if for some reason the plugin directory gods decide to permanently ban it.

Hope we can get an update and see a resolution soon!

If the limiting factor was the case, they should close all Woocommerce related plugins.
95% of those plugins are very very limited. I mean in a way that it is just useless. Like getting Windows demo in which you could only change the desktop wallpaper. Next to that there are also a lot of plugins loading ads in admin area (mostly in a unsafe way).

I hope WP put this plugin back very soon.

I do not understand: WI tested for a month all kind of plugins doing the same. And most of the same plugins have the same limits between free and pro So you can test if you want (or not) to pay for extra futures. ????
Why then is just this plugin banned? The free is perfect usable for everybody.

The developer is very reachable, this is not a big big company. Just a developer i think with a (very) good plugin and a very reasonable price for everybody if you want more.

    Any news, @codeer?
BTW, congrats for the launch of the new theme/builder. I’ll give it a try soon.

“This plugin has been closed as of January 26, 2021 and is not available for download. Reason: Guideline Violation”

So is it over? Is it closed forever?

What should we do now? Will we no longer receive updates? Should we replace it with another plugin?

Too bad, I loved this plugin .. πŸ™

That is a very misleading message by WordPress.

The plugin is not closed, you just cannot download it on WordPress.org.

The plugin is still being actively developed and you can find it over on their website at:

@blackeye0013 Thank you so much for your congrats. The launch of Bricks is also the reason I had to shift my development focus towards it (away from HappyFiles).

I planned to resubmit HappyFiles to the WP repo with the HappyFiles 2.0 rewrite. For which I, unfortunately, could not find the time. I am actively looking for another developer to ensure we get back to the regular HappyFiles updates you used to enjoy. This takes time, though.

@roccocontillo You can still download the free version of HappyFiles from https://happyfiles.io. It’s just not available in the WP repo right now.

    @codeer thanks for the answer.
I already have and use Happyfiles. I just wanted to make sure the project is still alive and getting updates in my backend.

As soon as you resubmit HappyFiles to the WP repo with the HappyFiles 2.0 rewrite, can you let us know under this post? So we get a notification πŸ™‚

Thanks so much. Have a nice day.

@codeer hi i am considering to buy the plugin … is it still supported?
    Thanks

    Plugin Author Codeer

    (@codeer)

@utentone Yup, if you need any support, I am just an email away (info@happyfiles.io) πŸ™‚

No update on the hiring front, though.

@codeer Ok thanks… so if i buy it now i also have have access to this version 2.0?

    Plugin Author Codeer

    (@codeer)

@utentone Yes, as long as you buy the lifetime deal, you’ll receive ALL future updates. But there currently is no ETA on the 2.0 update. So I’d only encourage you to go ahead with your PRO purchase if the current feature set of HappyFiles PRO contains everything you need.

    @codeer I, thanks for reply…

Just for your information i think happyfiles have problems with wp 5.8, as you can see in the image on the media page the toolbar goes below the media https://ibb.co/SX7HYcq
