    You must give web-server permissions to the folders. Or contact the web-server administrator that might knows what to do.

    same funny thing with two different WP systems (same ISP (

    Uploading pictures from the admin menu works!
    Uploading with ftp client does not.

    Changing permissions with ftp client(s) – no way.

    This is not a very important thing, because i do not change header images every day.
    I will contact the ISP and ket you know, if we solved the problem.

    Actually I re-read the problem and I might know why it happens:
    plug-in created the subdirectory with webserver’s permissions and the FTP user is not able to rename/write anything in it because has no permissions.
    I still suggest to write to the webserver admin for a solution.

    Inbetween I found a solution at the admin-menu of my provider ( ) to give the rights back to the user.

    Now I’m able to upload pictures via FTP.
