Plugin changed completely. Why?

    I used the previous version of the plugin to simply display user avatars which worked perfectly fine. Since the last update it does not work anymore plus many unwanted features came on top which made this plugin a completely different one.
    Very disappointing.
    Why was the plugin completely changed?
