Hi!
It isn’t part of the Background Manager and although tracking clicks would be possible using a link itself (ie., bit.ly, Google Analytics), that would not address tracking of the impressions.
I can certainly look into adding this as a feature, though it would be ideal if I could integrate this with a third-party plugin that handles advertising. Is there one you are currently using?

Actually I’m not using third-party plugin to handles advertising but I use WP-Bannerize if it can help.
I upload all banner, Swf/flash, html of my clients on my own server.
Great plugin!
I agree, impression numbers would be amazing!

Hi!
Version 1.1 has been released today. It now supports to track impressions and clicks on click-able background images (and only those) using Google Analytics. It will fire an “Event” captured by Google Analytics, which will show in the Events list. They can also be used to set Goals.
