plug in question

Hi folks. I am very new to wp so sorry for the question that might seem dumb.

I am looking for a module or for a way to get post to show up in two columns.

or better yet to have articles show up from selected categories in two columns next to each other.

Can anybody recomend a plugin or a way to do this?
