How to change a background colour

[Please provide a more descriptive title in future]

Hello, I’ve managed to get my wordpress theme matching but the only problem I’ve came across is that the main index post text description is not completely white text. You will notice on both FireFox and Google Chrome that the index post description color is white with like a shadow of the background color on the website. This makes it hard for people to read and i wanted to know if someone could help me locate where i can change this and maybe make it more clear?
