pinging a list after doing a post

  • When you ping a list (in the ‘update services’ portion) after you do a posting, is there anyway to verify that the ping was successful? I do not see any ping log there to tell me. (or is there?) Please help.

    Thanks!

    Steven

Back when pingomatic was young, you could post, hit refresh in a window at POM and see your site listed. Due to the massive volumes of pings I have no idea if that would still work. But I would assume that you are indeed pinging – especially if you are doing a list (see below) and it takes a while to complete.

list – you only really need POM there. Multiple pinging is frowned upon.

What if outbound pings and trackbacks aren’t working? I’m using 1.5.2 and can’t seem to get one out to anyone. I’ve looked at every support thread I can find, and even installed the Fixback plugin, but still no luck.

I’d love to see a log. Is there one, or will it be in the server logs?

    have you tried here:
    http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/TestTrack/index.php

You can send to / from that.

    Podz,
Sorry but how does this work? I went to the site that you stated above but how do I use it. Sorry for this stupid question but I am very new to this..

    Cheers!

    yeohcbs:
    Click Login,
Use the name TT and the password tester

How to ping / track is in the sidebar.

I’ve tried both, but I’m going to do a complete reinstall, because since I moved it to my root site Ping and trackbacks don’t work at all.
