Php running old version, new version installed, as windows admin

    I am windows admin. we had an older version of wordpress installed. all good. did update to wordpress. all works. but our plugins need newer version of PHP.
    when i run phpinfo.php on other folders it shows PHP version 5.6.8 as expected
    when i run phpinfo.php on my wordpress folder is shows PHP version 5.2.17

    As a windows administrator how can i change the version of PHP that wordpress is using?
