Hi evergreenframedart
Have you got FTP access to the website? If so, I would rename the following directory:
/wp-content/plugins/portfolio-slideshow/
to
/wp-content/plugins/portfolio-slideshowx/
That should disable the plugin and let you log back in. If it doesn’t then try using the Forgot Password option when logging in.
If that doesn’t work ideally you’ll need access to the database as there’s a way to amend the password…
1) Access phpMyAdmin
2) Click on the database
3) Find wp_users and click on it
4) Against your login click Edit
5) In user_pass switch to MD5
6) Amend the encrypted box to whatever password you want to use
7) Click the Go button
You should now be able to login using your new password.
Hope you get in!

Hello evergreenframedart
I have the same problem with my website
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /home/ifmsapan/public_html/a/wp-content/plugins/portfolio-slideshow/lib/Plugin.php on line 57
I can not access my administrator’s user page.
I do not have FTP access to the website.
I am a novice at this.
Please help me.

Hey folks,
The core of all of these problems was that until version 1.11.0, which I just published today, Portfolio Slideshow did not support PHP 5.2 – 5.3 or higher was required, for no good reason really, and this is just a pure case of me dropping the ball. I should’ve included support for PHP 5.2 from day one –
– regardless of “should haves”, 5.2 support is finally included now in version 1.11.0, which I just published this morning.
Update as soon as possible and see if these issues persist; if you’d like to learn more about the 1.11.0 release, head here:

I hope all of this information helps – and that the 1.11.0 update itself helps, too!
Sincerely,
George
