• When I downloaded WordPress to install onto my site all the files downloaded as Mircrosoft Digital Image Documents and I am not sure why that happened, or how to change it. I downloaded and installed wordpress on another site before and didnt’ run into this problem. Is there a way to convert the files or do I have to try downloading it again??

  • There is a conflict with the other program. To open one of the files right click and select open with. There should be an option for you to permanently change the program to something else.

    thanks that worked.
i just needed to change that wp-config. file.
if i ftp the files as they are now to my server will it make a difference if they are all saved as php files, or is that the way it is supposed to be anyway?

    They should be .php files.

They are .php files, but MS is stupid enough to “think” they are Mircrosoft Digital Image Documents… If you don’t change their extension they will remain normal PHP files. Just don’t try to open them with some image editing gizmo 🙂

thanks, do any of you feel like helping me with my ‘can’t select database’ error problem that i still can’t figure out??

Thta’s most likely related to the info you put into the wp-config file.
Check if you followed all the required steps:
